Building Strong Bodies, Sharp Minds: CrossFit Kids 

Our Philosophy

At 557, We believe that youth fitness programs should be designed to be enjoyable and engaging and effective. Introducing children to regular physical activity through a fitness program instills healthy habits that can last a lifetime. Teaching the importance of exercise at a young age sets the foundation for a healthy lifestyle in adulthood. Some benefits of starting a Youth CrossFit program are:

Confidence

When they start to see improvements in their abilities and hearing the coaches encouraging them and congratulating them on every little improvement, they start to walk with their heads high and big smiles. 

Camaraderie

Participating in a youth fitness program provides opportunities for children to interact with peers who share similar interests. This can foster friendships, teamwork, and social skills development.

Discipline

Our kids classes are structured into a format that kids become accustomed to and they learn the flow quickly and become self-disciplined.

Emotional benefits

We teach sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, listening skills, and manners through the structure of the class.

Skeletal & Vestibular Systems

We do impact loading activities (jumping, running, burpees), which helps keep their bones healthy by preventing bone density loss, which as an adult can turn into a diagnosis of osteoporosis.

Fitness as a lifestyle

If kids find fitness fun, they will grow up associating working out with something enjoyable and they will make fitness a priority in their life.

CrossFit Preschool (ages 3-5) 

What: We offer this class 1 day a week for a 6 week session.  We offer several sessions throughout the year.  

When: This class is 25-35 minutes long due to the attention span of this age group.

Focus: Gross motor skills, static positions for body awareness, foundational movements, social skills, and understanding structure of group exercise.  There are NO weights used in this class.

CrossFit Kids (ages 6-9)

We offer this class in sessions throughout the year. Our Fall session ends November 20th.

We will be offering a couple of classes over the Holiday break in December and will have another 6 week session in the Spring.

Check back for registration for Holiday classes!

Focus: complex motor activity and foundational movements.  Light/moderate weights are used only if technique is good.

Youth Strength & Conditioning (ages 10-13)

We offer this class in sessions throughout the year. Our Fall session ends November 20th.

We will be offering a couple of classes over the Holiday break in December and will have another 6 week session in the Spring.

Focus: builds on our CrossFit Kids program and prepares them for the high school class.  The focus is still on complex motor activity and foundational movements.  We mix in gymnastics movements, power, explosiveness, and more weight lifting (adjusting the weight accordingly per child) and conditioning.

High School Strength & Conditioning (ages 14+)

We offer this class in sessions throughout the year. Our Fall session ends November 20th.

We will be offering a couple of classes over the Holiday break in December and will have another 6 week session in the Spring.

Focus: build power, explosiveness, coordination, and conditioning utilizing functional movements and weights.

This class is for teenagers looking to improve overall health, receive general strength and conditioning for sports, and achieve top-level fitness.  We welcome beginner to elite student athletes to this program.

Team Training

At 557 we offer team training for sports teams.  Team training allows us to focus on that particular sport and format our session or sessions around the demands of the sport.  This gives teams a great opportunity for bonding outside of their sports practices and games.

Our coaches have done team training for football, soccer, hockey, and baseball, but we are not limited to these sports.
